How does the licensing work?

A Corporate License is based on the number of computers where the software can be used simultaneously and the number of drives that can be erased at the same time.

The number of licenses purchased determines how many computers can run the software concurrently. Each computer can erase the same number of drives as the number of licenses purchased.

Example:

5 Corporate Licenses allow you to use the software on 5 computers simultaneously and erase up to 5 drives on each computer (up to 25 drives in total).

The software can be used either as an installed application or by booting from a USB/CD/DVD device.

Site and Enterprise Licenses allow unlimited concurrent use:

  • Site License — allows unlimited use of the software at one company's physical location.
  • Enterprise License — allows unlimited use of the software across all company offices and branches worldwide.

What is the difference between the Corporate, Site, and Enterprise licenses?

  • Corporate License — allows a company to use the software on a specific number of computers. The company can purchase as many licenses as needed, depending on the number of computers where the software will be used.
  • Site License — allows unlimited use of the software at one physical location (for example, one office, facility, or site) belonging to the same legal entity.
  • Enterprise License — allows unlimited use of the software across all company locations, offices, and branches worldwide, provided they belong to the same legal entity.

What is the difference between the FREE and Professional versions?

The FREE version provides basic data erasure functionality with limited capabilities. It supports the only one-pass overwriting with zeros and is intended for simple data wiping tasks.

The Professional version includes all FREE version features plus advanced data erasure capabilities, including:

  • support for multiple hard drives and simultaneous erasure operations;
  • a choice of more than 20 data erasure standards, including NIST and DoD 5220.22-M compliant methods;
  • additional professional features and configuration options for advanced users and business environments.

I have previously purchased an earlier version of the software. Can I download the latest version?

When you purchase a license, one year of Support and Software Updates is included at no additional cost. During this period, you can download and use the latest version of the software.

After the first year, you can continue using the version you already have, or you can extend your Support and Updates subscription to receive access to future releases and updates.

Extending Support and Updates is optional. Please note that we do not keep all previous software versions available for download, so we recommend saving your original setup files for future use.

I recently renewed my Support and Updates subscription, but no new updates are shown. What should I do?

After renewing your Support and Updates subscription, please go to the Orders/Downloads section in your Customer Support Centre profile and click Re-download for your software product.

You will automatically receive the latest available version of the software. A confirmation email will also be sent to you with your updated registration information and a new download access link.

I have exceeded the allowed number of activations for my license. How can I reset them?

If you have exceeded the allowed number of activations for your license, please contact our Sales team at sales@lsoft.net and request an activation reset.

Please include your Order ID or License Key so we can quickly locate your order and reset your current activations.
